Scooby-Doo Live on Stage

I mainly attend kids entertainment shows because of my young brother. It is fun to take my mind off my responsibilities for a short while and enjoy the kind of things he loves. A month ago I attended Ice Age Live on Ice and it was amazing! So we decided to go see Scooby-Doo Live on Stage.

Scooby-Doo’s advertisement and marketing campaigns were huge! Their posters were everywhere, their ads were on the TV very often and Scooby-Doo himself was all over my Instagram feed till the last day of the event. They got my expectations so high that I was impatiently waiting for the event.

On Thursday, the 1st of March, was the first theatrical show of Scooby-Doo. The platform of the event was full of sponsors; Cold Stone, Kukuruza, Nola Cupcakes, Hamleys toy store and others whose names I cannot remember. Of course, the Hamleys’ workers were playing with the toys and spreading the joy around (I seriously find that scary whenever they throw something near me in order to grab my attention). People were queuing up in front of the vendors. Children were running all around. The general atmosphere was very energetic!

To be honest, I worried that the show wouldn’t live up to my expectations. To be honest, it didn’t, but it surely lived up to the kids’ expectations and that’s what mattered! The show was purely designed for kids; the plot, the script, the songs and the dance routines. It was very basic. It was like bringing a whole Scooby-Doo episode to life. The creators included all the Scooby-Doo lines that we were used to hearing on the TV. There was this one song that literally got me dancing in my chair! It was called “Rock and Roll of Hatshepsut” so you can imagine the beat of the song.

The event was well organized and the sponsors helped in making it livelier. The ushers were friendly. It was nice to break the routine of my usual Thursdays. Also, I ate kukuruza’s Salted Caramel popcorn whilst watching the show so I went home with a happy tummy.
