Dr. Strange: An Unreal Escape

Right now, I’ve only got one question for the universe: Is being a hot-looking male in the criteria of becoming a neurosurgeon (on screen)? Because both Derek Shepherd and Benedict Cumberbatch surely meet it, with excellence. I don’t know if it’s their blue eyes or their role as a successful neurosurgeon that is more appealing to me, but they both are a great package for really anything. Coming off too strong, ha? Oh well, I’m sure all the girls agree with me.

When they first released Dr. Strange’s trailer, I was blown away; not only because the movie looked unreal, but because both Benedict Cumberbatch and Mads Mikkelsen are in it. In other words, both Sherlock and Hannibal, the most brilliant TV show characters in history, are in it. So I couldn’t miss out on it or just watch it at home; I had to go see it in the cinema.

If there is any advice I could give you before you watch the movie, it’d be keeping an open mind for all the unreal things you’re going to see. The creators of Dr. Strange have truly outdone themselves in the fantasy movie world. The idea of the movie itself has been done before but the unreal parts lie in the sub-ideas. I can’t get my mind around how exceptionally big the creators’ imagination is. How did they create such an imaginary world based on mystic arts? It has been 24 hours since I’ve watched it and I’m genuinely still amazed.

The movie didn’t really rely on the acting skills as much as it relied on the fictional story they’ve created. So although they haven’t used Cumberbatch and Mikkelsen’s phenomenal acting skills, I loved seeing them two on screen together; two candies for my eyes! It was kind of a bummer though not seeing much of Rachel McAdams in the movie, but you probably wouldn’t realize that until after you watch it so it’s okay. However, there is one thing I didn’t like about the movie; that is how rushed some events were. Like I do get that speeding things up at times were necessary for the storyline but I felt that it was also important to take our time with these certain events. But that really didn’t bother me to the point of not linking the whole movie, because by the end I felt like it all added up. So go watch it anyway because it was a marvelous movie that will blow your mind just like mine still is!

I’ve never really tried reading any of the Marvel comic books but on a totally random note, I’d like to read them as bedtime stories for my future kids. And maybe they’ll grow into little Marvel geeks where they have a big collection of Marvel’s action figures. How cool would that be?! Speaking of action figures, I have a Hannibal one and another for his co-star Will Graham. I have them on my working desk; they’re one of my belongings I’m proud to own.
