DIY: Christmas Cards | Blogmas

Updated: Aug 30, 2019

We live in a time where we rely so much on technology that we’re slowly letting go of the heart-felt gestures. I’m 21 years old and I don’t think I have seen my parents ever receive a hand written letter, which means we let go of that two decades ago! Now we communicate through text messages; we’re all guilty of that since they’re so much easier and quicker, but they cannot be as heart-warming as hand written letters. So this Christmas, I decided to ditch the greeting text messages and bring back the hand-written cards. But because I want this to become a powerful movement that’s more than just a blog post, I made the cards myself from scratch!

YOU WILL NEED… 1) Glitter Foam Sheets 2) Colored Cardboard 3) Watercolor Paint 4) Color Pens 5) Corrector Pen 6) Glue 7) Cutter

The cards are literally as easy as they look so I don’t think I need to walk you through the steps. So just get the required material, put some Christmas music on, watch a Christmas movie or an episode if you wish, and get creative; that’s how I did it! When I first googled some Christmas cards ideas, I was meant to do four identical ones to the cards I found. However, I found myself adding more colors, and personalizing the cards more; I was adding my personal touch to them, and I’m so happy with the final result. So get inspired by my version of Christmas cards, google some Christmas phrases, and add your personal touch to the cards you’ll make. You’ll be happy with how they turn out to be, and trust me on this, you’ll want to make as many as you can to give to your friends. That is how I felt, and if it weren’t for my tight schedule, I’d have created a dozen to give to my friends but now I need to pick just four of them… *awkward*

Use the joyous spirit of Christmas or the New Year as an excuse to send your loved ones a hand-written card. You don’t have to make the cards yourself, just sending them one in the first place would surely make their day. But if you can go the extra mile then don’t hesitate! Investing time and effort in anything, no matter how small or big it is, for the sake of someone else’s happiness will always be the easiest way to their heart. Let me know in the comments below if you’re going to #BringBackTheCards this Christmas. Until tomorrow’s blogmas, cheers!
